The Change Foundation’s Netball 4 Change programme works with vulnerable girls and young women ages 10 to 14 who are using and/or are highly exposed to social media platforms for more than 3 hours a day from at-risk areas of Newcastle and London. 

The vast digital landscape continues to put increased pressure on teenagers today to communicate via social media channels. Teens are so emotionally invested in social media that 20% of secondary school pupils will wake up at night and log onto social media just to make sure they don’t miss out.  

The Change Foundation’s Netball 4 Change programme works with vulnerable girls and young women ages 10 to 14 who are using and/or are highly exposed to social media platforms for more than 3 hours a day from at-risk areas of Newcastle and London. 

Netball 4 Change is a 10-week programme that uses the rules and the game of netball to teach girls and young women how to stay safe on social media. It empowers participants to think more positively about their social graph, understand how it can affect their prospects for the future and become aware of negative social influences.
